where is the tea!!! (lab drama series 2 ep 1)
Hey besties, long time no see or as my grandmother would say "long time no saw" how are you doing... for me it been dramatic and funny or should I say it been teaful, hehe.
If you are here for the first time, welcome (I am literally typing this with a big smile on my face) and if you are a returning drama lover, what's up!!!!!!
As you all know, your favorite scientist has been busy phding like P to the HDing! so let me catch you up. I started my first class at the end of August, which is a math class and that alone is quite a drama. I also started my lab rotation the second week of September and gurrrlllll I am so in love with every part of it, like I was born for THISSSSSS. Do not get me wrong, sometimes it gets intense and busy and hard to understand, but it's fun. I currently work in a developmental biology/epigenetics lab and guess what, the developmental part of research in the lab is on natural variation (iykyk), which I am very excited about. The other part of the research in the lab is also very interesting and I am learning a lot of molecular biology techniques, especially chip-seq.
In short, my weeks have been very eventFUL. Outside of science (in the real sense, Toyosi will still add science), I have been building my own community in Philadelphia, which is good because a girl needs her people. And for some reason, I have been hanging out with more people from the chemistry department, thumps up to my fam Perc. It's been so much fun that a postdoc in the chemistry department reorganized me on my way home a week ago heheh.
I also managed to crush my longtime crush last weekend.... ehemm ....I...know... and guess what, it ended in premium heartbreak we MOVE!! my mum is probably reading this and shaking her head but I am so sorry mum, I have let you down again.
If there is one thing I am very proud of it is the beginning of Black Scientist Collective which was recently launched. (Visit us on Ig).
All in all, it has been a very busy, eventful and emotional September for me, but I am grateful to God, the giver of life, for bringing me this far.
I have more to say but I have to prepare for my mid term exams, so see you later.
Ciao!
Your favorite scientist
Can't wait to Go thid journey with you ❤️👏👏👏👏👏
