Love on the Brain
"It's not as though he works as an accountant who money-launders for a drug cartel. He's a NASA engineer cited by thousands of people. He has a high-paying position." I actually have no idea how much Levi makes, but I lift one eyebrow and carry on. "He's not wasting his life in a dead-end job."Uh-Oh number six. The drinking game was totally a missed opportunity. It sure would make the silence more bearable as it stretches. And stretches. And stretches. Until the Colonel breaks it, "Miss Königswasser, you are very rude "She's not," Levi interrupts firmly. Calmly, But forcefully. "And she's a doctor." Levi holds his father's gaze for a moment, and then moves on to his brother. "What about you, Isaac? How's work been?" I lean back in my chair, noticing the suspicious, hateful way theColonel is looking at me. I give him a fake, bright smile and tune into what Levi is saying."
Ali Hazelwood said and i quote SHE IS DOCTOR!!!!!! oh my chest!! like okurrrrrrrr!!!
ok, I agree that is a bit dramatic of me but I read that part more than ten times!!!! you see, if there is one thing I can't wait to do with a PhD it is to add that title to every single thing ! yes! EVERY SINGLE THING!
This is my second Ali Hazelwood's book (read Love Hypothesis earlier this year) and the way she brings the reality of what is going on in STEM (especially in graduate school) and romances together is something I can't get enough of.
To think I read the whole book within 24 hours should tell you how interesting I found the book.
Anyways, this is my first time doing a book review but since I love this book so much I have to put it out here.
Definitely 10 out of 10
with love,
your favorite scientist
