The unsaid truth
Dear M,
I recently saw a post on Instagram and I thought of sharing it with you.
what if someone invented a machine that allowed women to transfer their pregnancies to men and the government passed a law that if a woman didn't want to have a baby the biological father was required to carry it, how fast do you think birth control would stop being an issue?
I believe, telling a woman who says she doesn't want kids "you'll change your mind " is really shitty!!!
it's assigning motherhood to a person who is explicitly rejecting it! it's reinforcing gender roles!! it makes motherhood to be something you do because you have to, not because you genuinely want to!!! it's telling a grown woman that you know what she wants better than she does!!!!
Let me know what your think.
With love

My opinion: No one enforces motherhood on anyone as marriage comes with such packages. It is just like going to a university at the end of it, you get a degree which shows you attended a university. Same as marriage + children. Having said that, It boils down to choice which the decision rest on both parties to agree upon the best way to address it cos one person can’t take such decision alone.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I get your point
